U.S. Counterterrorism Chief Resigns

Christine S. Abizaid, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, will step down next month after three years in the role. She recently highlighted the increased global terrorist threats following the Hamas attacks in Israel and the Gaza conflict. Brett M. Holmgren will serve as the acting director upon her departure.
