San Clemente Landslide Disrupts Rail Service Between Orange and San Diego

A landslide in San Clemente has caused the indefinite suspension of passenger rail service between the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo and Oceanside stations, with boulders and debris falling onto the tracks and damaging the Mariposa Trail Bridge. Metrolink and Amtrak services have been affected, and there is currently no timeline for when the tracks will reopen. Passengers are being offered bus connections as an alternative travel option during the closure.
