Tragic Loss: Richland County Deputy Killed in On-Duty Crash

A 23-year-old deputy in Richland County, South Carolina, named Jacob Eric Salrin, was killed in an on-duty traffic crash when his patrol car collided with a transfer truck. Salrin died at the scene, while the truck driver was taken to the hospital. Salrin had been serving as a patrol deputy for the Richland County Sheriff's Department since 2022 and graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in January 2023.
