Tragic History: Lake Lanier's Dark Legacy of Drownings and Deaths

Three recent deaths at Georgia's Lake Lanier have added to the more than 200 fatalities that have occurred at the man-made lake since 1994. The victims include a 61-year-old man who drowned while swimming, a 27-year-old man who went under while swimming and has not been found, and a 24-year-old man who drowned and may have been electrocuted. Lake Lanier, the largest lake in Georgia, was created in 1956 and serves as a popular recreational spot. The investigation into these recent deaths is ongoing.
