Tragic Crash Claims Lives of Three Camp Pendleton Marines on 5 Freeway.

Three Marines stationed at Camp Pendleton were among the four people killed in a single-car crash on the 5 Freeway in Downey, California. The car was moving at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to slam into a guardrail and bridge abutment. The car split in two upon impact and overturned, with the driver and front passenger inside the car when it became engulfed in flames. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
