Good Samaritan killed while assisting ducks across California road

A California man, identified as Casey Rivara, was struck and killed by a teenage driver while helping a family of ducks cross a busy street in Rocklin. Rivara had parked his car and was attempting to shepherd the ducks across the road when the driver hit him. The teenage driver remained at the scene and was not arrested. The incident is still under investigation. Rivara was an employee at Maria Montessori Charter Academy and was driving his children home after swim practice when the incident occurred.
