Fatal Pedestrian Crashes Claim Lives in Portland on Saturday

Two pedestrians were killed in separate crashes in Portland on Saturday, bringing the total number of traffic deaths in the city this year to 53. In one incident, a minivan struck and killed a pedestrian before colliding with a utility pole, leaving the driver with life-threatening injuries. In another hit-and-run incident, a pedestrian died at a downtown location, and the driver fled the scene. Police are urging anyone with information about either crash to come forward.
