China's Cuba Spy Base Raises Concerns for U.S.

US officials tracked workers from Chinese telecom companies Huawei and ZTE entering and exiting suspected Chinese spy facilities in Cuba, according to sources. While neither company is known to make the sophisticated tools governments would use for eavesdropping, both specialize in the technology needed to facilitate such an operation. The US has been engaged in a yearslong campaign to persuade allies to shut Huawei in particular out of their next-generation telecommunications networks.
