Student-led Walkouts Across the US Demand Gun Safety and Change

Hundreds of Portland students participated in a national walkout organized by Students Demand Action to protest gun violence and demand change. The students marched through downtown Portland, holding signs with gun violence statistics and messages such as “kids over guns” and giving passionate speeches demanding action from lawmakers and elected officials. The walkout was organized by students from Lincoln High School and the Metropolitan Learning Center, and ended at City Hall.
