"New York provides refuge for Ukrainian immigrants"

A nonprofit called Ukrainian Habitat Fund, founded by a Manhattan real estate executive, is helping Ukrainian refugees in New York find affordable housing and adapt to their new life in America. The fund has found homes for 15 families so far and has a list of 80 more who have asked for help. In addition to subsidizing some rents, the fund will guarantee leases when landlords are reluctant to rent to refugees who are new to the city. The fund also organizes activities on holidays to help refugees adapt to their new life.
