Honoring Heroes: Thousands Run and Walk in Tunnel to Towers 5K to Remember 9/11

Thousands of participants, including FOX Weather meteorologist Nick Kosir, took part in the Tunnel to Towers 5K in New York City, braving gloomy weather caused by Post-Tropical Cyclone Ophelia. The event raises support for fallen heroes and catastrophically injured veterans through the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which provides mortgage-free homes to their families and builds specially adapted homes for injured veterans and first responders. The foundation has raised over $500 million since 9/11, with $0.95 of every dollar going towards its programs. FOX Weather has committed to matching up to $250,000 in donations. The 5K route follows the path taken by firefighter Stephen Siller on 9/11, and participants aim to honor the heroes who protect freedom and safety.
