From Tragedy to Tribute: A Memorial Rises on the Site of the MOVE Bombing.

Mike Africa Jr, whose family members were members of the Black liberation group Move, has purchased the row house in Philadelphia that was rebuilt after a police bombing in 1985 killed 11 people, including five children. Africa intends to convert the property into a memorial for those who died. He hopes to place photographs of each of the 11 victims inside the house and is seeking compensation from the city for the debt he has taken on buying the property. Africa has been at the forefront of efforts to ensure that the tragic events of 38 years ago are not forgotten.
