Florida Hotels Fined $5K for Allowing Minors at 'A Drag Queen Christmas' Show

The Hyatt Regency Miami has agreed to pay a $5,000 fine and bar anyone under 18 from attending shows with specific sexual activities after minors attended a Christmas-themed drag show at the hotel. The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) filed a complaint against the hotel, alleging that it promoted the show as open to all ages without disclosing its sexually explicit nature. The settlement comes amid ongoing efforts by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to ban drag shows, although a federal judge has blocked the law from going into effect. A Drag Queen Christmas, the nationwide tour featuring performers from "RuPaul's Drag Race," is excited to return to Florida this season.
