Law enforcement ramps up DUI patrols for St. Patrick's Day weekend

Police in Delaware County are reminding people celebrating St. Patrick's Day to plan ahead and not drink and drive. Roving DUI patrols will be on the roads to ensure drivers stay safe. The Northern Delaware County DUI Task Force, consisting of Radnor, Haverford, Marple, Newtown, and Springfield townships, will have extra officers patrolling the roadways looking for drunk drivers. Police advise people to celebrate responsibly and have a plan to get home, and note that DUI arrests have gone down in recent years with the rise of ride share services.
