"Big Sur Cliffside Crash: Man Rescued After 2-Day Ordeal"

A driver in Monterey County, California, was ejected from his car through the sunroof after it rolled several hundred feet down a cliff, where he remained stranded for two days until a rescue operation involving the California Highway Patrol and other agencies. The man was located nearly 400 feet over the side near the beach below Highway 1 and was eventually hoisted to safety by a helicopter. He was then taken to a hospital for treatment of his moderate injuries.
