"Over 20 Skiers and Snowboarders Rescued from Freezing Vermont Backcountry"

Twenty-three skiers and snowboarders were rescued in frigid temperatures in Killington, Vermont after becoming lost in the backcountry, with search and rescue crews navigating 5 miles in single-digit temperatures to bring them back to safety. After the initial group was rescued, two more lost skiers prompted another rescue effort, with all individuals eventually being brought to safety with the assistance of various rescue teams.
