San Francisco Prosecutors Face Backlash for Charging Bay Bridge Protesters

San Francisco prosecutors have started charging 80 protesters who blocked the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge for hours last month to demand a cease-fire in Gaza. The protesters, who held signs calling for a cease-fire and the release of those charged, face charges including false imprisonment and refusing to comply with a peace officer. The arraignments of the charged individuals have been continued to February. Similar protests calling for a cease-fire have occurred in other cities across the United States.
