Watchdog warns of conspiracy theorists addressing US House subcommittee.

Witnesses set to testify to the US House subcommittee on the "weaponisation" of the US government have links to far-right groups and a history of supporting conspiracy theories about coronavirus vaccines and the January 6 insurrection, warns a congressional watchdog. Among the witnesses is Stephen Friend, a former FBI special agent who claims to be an FBI "whistleblower" despite failing to receive federal whistleblower protections. The witnesses are Trump loyalists who will go to any lengths to defend the former president's lies, just like Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio, an ally of former US president Donald Trump, who chairs the subcommittee.
