US TV's Obsession with Trump Fizzles Out

Cable news networks CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC provided live coverage of former President Donald Trump leaving his Mar-a-Lago resort and boarding a Trump-branded plane en route to New York City, where he will report for arraignment on undisclosed charges handed down by a New York grand jury. The coverage was compared to the live TV coverage of O.J. Simpson traveling in the back seat of a white Ford Bronco in 1994. Trump's six-minute trip to the airport in a motorcade of black SUVs was uneventful, and his supporters were not present in large numbers. All three networks covered Trump's plane landing in New York around 3:30 p.m. Eastern.
