The appeal was filed by Republican and independent voters in coordination with the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. The case, which revolves around Trump's alleged involvement in the January 6 insurrection, is expected to eventually reach the US Supreme Court. The challengers argue that the lower court's interpretation of the Constitution is flawed and hope the Colorado Supreme Court will overturn it. Trump's lawyers have also appealed the decision, seeking to have other findings by the judge overturned.
