Trump Advisor Peter Navarro Convicted of Criminal Contempt

Former Trump advisor Peter Navarro has been found guilty on two counts of criminal contempt of Congress for refusing to testify to the House Jan. 6 Committee. Navarro, who advocated for overturning the 2020 election and made false allegations of voter fraud, claimed executive privilege as a defense, but the court ruled against him. He faces a potential prison sentence of 30 days to one year for each charge, as well as a maximum fine of $100,000. Navarro plans to appeal the ruling and has expressed his desire for the case to go to the Supreme Court.
