The statement shows that billionaire real estate magnate Harlan Crow paid the tuition for Mark Martin, who lived with Thomas and his wife for over a decade. Crow also paid for Martin's tuition at another boarding school in Virginia. Thomas did not report the tuition payments from Crow on his annual financial disclosures, which experts say may be a violation of federal law. Crow has also given Thomas luxury travel and undisclosed real estate deals.
