Texas Rep. Bryan Slaton faces allegations of inappropriate relationship with intern and possible investigation.

Two Texas state lawmakers, including a member of the conservative Texas House Freedom Caucus, have called for the resignation of Rep. Bryan Slaton after allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a Capitol intern. Slaton, one of the most socially conservative members of the Legislature, is being investigated after a legislative staffer made a complaint to the House General Investigating Committee. Slaton's attorney called the allegations outrageous and false. House Speaker Dade Phelan has promised a "swift and thorough" handling of the complaint.
