First-year state Rep. Jody Barrett, a Republican and attorney in Dickson, said he voted against the expulsion of state Rep. Gloria Johnson due to her attorneys pointing out “factual inaccuracies in the resolution that was under consideration” before the expulsion vote April 6. Johnson, D-Knoxville, was not expelled during the vote. Johnson, Jones and Pearson all faced expulsion after they approached the House podium between bills during the session without being recognized, breaking chamber rules.
