Senate report reveals intelligence and law enforcement failures preceding Jan. 6 Capitol attack.

A Senate report has revealed that intelligence agencies failed to anticipate the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol, even as the building was being stormed. The report said that intelligence personnel at the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other agencies ignored warnings of violence in December 2020. The report concluded that there is a "clear need ... for a reevaluation of the federal government’s domestic intelligence collection, analysis, and dissemination processes."
