Russia expands sanctions list to include Trump's political opponents and Harvard affiliates.

Russia has banned 500 Americans from entering the country, including some of former President Donald Trump's critics and enemies, in response to new US sanctions. The list includes New York Attorney General Letitia James, Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith, and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who was subpoenaed by Smith as part of his election investigation. Lieutenant Michael Byrd, the Capitol Police officer who shot and killed Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt on January 6, 2021, was also barred. The individuals on the list have had public clashes or criticisms about or from Trump but have no influence on US policies regarding Russia.
