Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney Declares 2025 Governor Run

Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney has officially announced his campaign for Governor of Virginia, joining Virginia Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger in the race. Stoney enters as an underdog, but his direct appeal to Democrats and criticism of opponent Glenn Younkin may give him a boost in the Democratic primary. Spanberger has secured endorsements from prominent Democrats, but her bipartisan approach may not necessarily help her win the primary. Republicans Jason Miyares and Winsome Earle-Sears are also potential contenders.
