Jayapal's remarks on CNN, where she attempted to bring balance to the discussion by mentioning Palestinian outrages, drew backlash. Independent Women's Forum president Carrie Lukas called Jayapal's comments "revolting" and accused her of lacking regard for the rights of Israeli women. Concerned Women for America CEO Penny Nance also scolded Jayapal, stating that her comments were reprehensible and showed clear hatred towards Jews. Several women's groups, including Planned Parenthood and Women's March, have not responded to the controversy.
