Bernie Moreno, a Republican candidate for the Ohio Senate, has raised $4 million in the third quarter, with $3 million coming from his own pocket. Moreno, a wealthy businessman from Cleveland, is vying for the Republican nomination to challenge Democratic incumbent Sen. Sherrod Brown. He gained attention earlier this year for proposing reparations for White descendants of Civil War soldiers. Moreno's campaign has about $5 million in cash on hand, and he has received praise from former President Donald Trump, although Trump has not yet endorsed a candidate for the 2024 race. Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose and State Sen. Matt Dolan are also competing for the GOP nomination.
