NC Governor Vetoes Abortion Restrictions, Protecting Reproductive Rights.

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, a Democrat, has vetoed a bill that would ban most abortions in the state after 12 weeks. The bill, which includes exceptions for rape, incest, and life-limiting fetal anomalies, was passed by the Republican-led legislature. Cooper called on supporters to pressure Republicans to let his veto stand. The legislature may vote to override the veto this week, which would require a three-fifths majority in each chamber. At least 19 states in the US have either full or partial bans on abortion.
