Nathan Fletcher's Resignation and Personal Struggles

Nathan Fletcher, a Democratic San Diego County supervisor, has announced his resignation from the county Board of Supervisors following allegations of sexual harassment and assault. Fletcher denied the allegations but resigned from the Metropolitan Transit System board on Tuesday. At least two staffers in his county office resigned on Wednesday as a result of the accusations. Fletcher's wife, former state Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez, supported her husband but asked him to resign to lessen the strain on their family. Fletcher had been considered a favorite to succeed Sen. Toni Atkins in the California Senate.
