Riot police were called to Montana's Capitol after left-wing protesters disrupted proceedings in support of transgender lawmaker Zooey Zephyr, who was censured by the state House of Representatives last week. The protesters were chanting "Let her speak!" and were arrested when police units commenced an operation to break up the group. Zephyr drew criticism after telling Republicans during a House floor debate on amendments to Senate Bill 99 that they have "blood on your hands." The bill, which would prohibit sex change treatment for minors, ultimately passed both the state House and Senate and is expected to be signed into law by Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte.
