Michigan Official Sentenced to House Arrest for Ballot Sabotage.

Kathy Funk, a Democrat and former Flint Township clerk in Michigan, has been sentenced to six months of house arrest for breaking a seal on a ballot box in her own election to prevent a recount. Funk must wear an electronic monitor and write a public apology for her actions. She initially claimed that someone had broken into the township hall and damaged the seal on the ballot cannister. Funk won the Democratic nomination by just 79 votes out of about 5,300 and subsequently won the general election that fall.
