Lachlan Murdoch and Fox News face criticism and trial in Dominion defamation case.

Lachlan Murdoch, the media mogul who controls Fox Corporation, is responsible for the US Capitol insurrection because of lies told through Fox News, according to barrister Michael Hodge KC. Murdoch is suing Private Media, which publishes Crikey, for defamation over an opinion piece that referred to him as an "unindicted co-conspirator" with Donald Trump over false election claims. Private Media is seeking to add a contextual truth defence, including personal communications between the Murdoch family, to its already pleaded defences of public interest and qualified privilege. Murdoch's barrister called the proposed defence vague and urged the judge to reject it.
