Gov. Kotek expresses disappointment in Portland's homeless spending plan.

Oregon Governor Tina Kotek expressed disappointment in Portland and Multnomah County officials for not providing clear plans on how to spend state emergency funding to address the homeless crisis. Kotek signed a $200 million funding package last month to rehouse 1,200 households and create over 600 new shelter beds by the end of the year. While Kotek tentatively approved funding for Portland and Multnomah County, she denied funding for Clackamas County due to a lack of confidence in their ability to increase shelter beds. Other counties, such as Lane County, provided clear plans on how to use state funds.
