Florida Senate Race Loses Challenger as Rick Scott Remains Unopposed

Navy veteran Phil Ehr has dropped out of the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate race in Florida and will instead challenge incumbent Rep. Carlos Gimenez for Florida's 28th congressional district. Ehr's decision was motivated by the Republican infighting in the House of Representatives and Gimenez's support for former President Donald Trump. Former Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, who lost her congressional seat to Gimenez in 2020, is endorsing Ehr.
