FEC Finds Nikki Haley's Fundraising Numbers Overstated

Former South Carolina governor and U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley's presidential campaign overstated its fundraising by double-counting money it moved among various committees. The filings with the Federal Election Commission show that three committees affiliated with Haley collectively brought in about $8.3 million, not the $11 million touted by her campaign. Haley's campaign defended the accounting, but the arithmetic was highly unusual. Money in Haley's leadership PAC cannot be used to finance her own campaign.
