False Claims of Homeless Vets Being Displaced for Migrants Probed by Attorney General

New York State Assemblyman Brian Maher, who was a volunteer spokesperson for the Yerik Israel Toney Foundation, has said he is no longer affiliated with the nonprofit after allegations that homeless veterans were pushed out of a hotel to make room for migrants were found to be false. Maher has called for an investigation into the nonprofit by the New York State Attorney General’s office and the Orange County District Attorney. Sharon Toney-Finch, the founder and chairman of the foundation, denied the allegations and said she never offered money to homeless men to say they had to leave the hotel.
