Republican Senator Tim Scott's presidential campaign received a boost from Elon Musk, who praised Scott's message of personal responsibility and anti-victimhood culture in a campaign ad. Scott, who filed paperwork to enter the 2024 race, is joining an increasingly crowded Republican field. He is running against former President Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, and others. Scott holds a record-setting $22 million cash on hand, the most of any presidential candidate in history, according to the Federal Election Commission.
