Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a $117 billion budget, the largest in state history, filled with conservative priorities, including tax breaks on baby care products, a multi-billion dollar expansion of school choice, and $25 million to remake a small liberal arts college into a conservative public university. The budget was boosted by federal dollars, including trillions sent to states to help them recover from the pandemic. DeSantis has often criticized Washington's spending practices, but has liberally spent the billions injected into Florida by the Biden administration.
