"DeSantis and Other Republicans Challenge Trump in 2024 Presidential Race"

A number of obscure Republicans are vying for the 2024 GOP nomination, including Corey Stapleton, former Montana Secretary of State; Steve Laffey, former mayor of Cranston, Rhode Island; Perry Johnson, Michigan businessman; Larry Elder, conservative radio host and former California gubernatorial candidate; and Ryan Binkley, Texas businessman and pastor. Despite low name recognition and lack of traction in national polls, these candidates hope to take on well-known contenders such as former President Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Their campaigns focus on issues such as investing in future generations, cutting spending, promoting national unity, and making the Republican Party's message relevant to all Americans.
