U.S. Representative Colin Allred, a Democrat from Dallas, raised nearly $6.2 million in the first two months of his campaign for the Senate against Republican incumbent Ted Cruz. Including funds transferred from his House campaign account, Allred's total receipts for the second quarter amount to approximately $8.6 million. This impressive fundraising performance solidifies Allred's position as a formidable contender. In comparison, it took Beto O'Rourke, Cruz's previous Democratic opponent, nine months to raise the same amount that Allred collected in just 59 days. Cruz has not yet released his second-quarter fundraising numbers.
