CNN to Host GOP Debates in Key Primary States

CNN will host Republican debates in Iowa and New Hampshire next month, marking the first events of their kind not sponsored by the Republican National Committee. The Iowa debate is scheduled for January 10, while the New Hampshire debate will take place on January 21. To qualify for participation, candidates must receive at least 10% in three separate national and/or state polls. The Republican National Committee has forbidden candidates from participating in events it does not sponsor, but may reconsider this rule. The question remains whether former president and 2024 frontrunner Donald Trump will participate, as he skipped the four debates sponsored by the RNC.
