Biden Overturns Controversial DC Crime Bill.

President Biden signed a bill nullifying the recent overhaul of the District of Columbia criminal code, which has left district lawmakers bracing to play defense against an activist Republican-controlled House for at least the next two years. Even before the bill was formally sent to Biden, House Republicans were promising a season of direct congressional intervention in local D.C. affairs. The Oversight Committee has already begun summoning D.C. officials to testify and identified areas of interest to target, such as police accountability and gun control laws.
