Nora Dannehy, a nominee for the Connecticut Supreme Court, testified at her confirmation hearing that she resigned from the Department of Justice and the Trump-Russia investigation due to Attorney General William Barr's improper pressure for an interim public report ahead of the 2020 presidential election. Dannehy, who worked as a career prosecutor under both Republican and Democratic administrations, stated that she strongly disagreed with conclusions in a draft interim report and saw Barr as pressing her and John Durham, the U.S. attorney leading the investigation, to act in favor of Trump's reelection. The committee voted 30-4 to recommend her nomination for confirmation.
