Tennessee Mourns the Loss of Former Governor Don Sundquist

Former Tennessee Governor Don Sundquist, who served as the 47th Governor of Tennessee from 1995 to 2003, has passed away at the age of 87. Sundquist, known for proposing a state income tax in 2001, which sparked controversy and protests, had recently moved back to the Memphis area with his wife. Memorial services will be held in Memphis and Nashville before Sundquist is laid to rest in Townsend, East Tennessee.
