CT Officials Pay Tribute to Weicker

Former Connecticut Governor and U.S. Senator Lowell P. Weicker Jr. was remembered at his funeral as an outspoken politician, competitive tennis player, and loving grandfather. Known for his larger-than-life personality and fearlessness, Weicker won most of his elections but suffered a defeat in a re-election battle for the U.S. Senate in 1988. However, he made a comeback by winning the race for governor in 1990 as an independent. Weicker's funeral was attended by political figures and family members, and he received condolences from President Joe Biden.
