Chicago Billionaire James Crown Dies in Colorado Race Track Accident at 70

James Crown, a Chicago billionaire and CEO of Henry Crown & Co., died in a car crash while driving on a racetrack in Colorado on his 70th birthday. Crown was a prominent figure in the Chicago business community and had recently announced plans to enlist fellow CEOs to address violent crime in the city by creating a massive jobs program. He was also the chairman of the Commercial Club of Chicago's Public Safety Task Force and aimed to reduce the number of killings in the city to fewer than 400 a year within five years. Crown was survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
