Wildfire Spreads Across State Border, Threatening Nevada

The York Fire, which started in the Mojave National Preserve in California, has crossed the state line into Nevada, burning 70,000 acres with no containment. Fueled by dry brush and high winds, the fast-moving fire has prompted a multi-agency response involving over 200 personnel. Clark County fire crews are on standby to protect residential areas, although the fire is currently burning in a desert area of Nevada. No evacuation orders are in place, but some California residents have chosen to evacuate voluntarily.
