Southern States Brace for Tornadoes and Deploy Search and Rescue Units.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency is deploying search and rescue units to Sharkey and Humphries Counties after a tornado devastated the area. Health officials will also assess damage to a hospital in the city. The primary role of the search and rescue units will be to assist local emergency responders in locating and helping victims. The state has activated medical support and is surging more ambulances and other emergency assets to those affected. At this time, there are no reports of injuries or fatalities.
